Lit!Series: An Evening with Roxane Gay and Imprint Authors
Join the Loft Literary Center for its first Lit!Series event of the year featuring bestselling author Roxane Gay. This conversation will highlight and celebrate the work of Roxane Gay Books, an imprint of Grove Atlantic that publishes books of fiction and nonfiction selected and edited by Roxane Gay herself. She will be joined by three RGB-published authors, Lindsay Hunter, J. Vanessa Lyon, and Kelly Sundberg, in a topical discussion of feminist literature, queer representation in books, equity in publishing, and so much more! Books by featured authors will be available for sale and the onstage program will be followed by a book signing reception.
Roxane Gay is an author and cultural critic whose writing is unmatched and widely revered. Her work garners international acclaim for its reflective, no-holds-barred exploration of feminism and social criticism. With a deft eye on modern culture, she brilliantly critiques its ebb and flow with both wit and ferocity.
The Loft Lit!Series is a quarterly weekend gathering for readers and writers. Each weekend will feature a vibrant menu of options including celebrations, conversations, intensive classes, lunchtime learnings, and one-on-one feedback meetings with agents and editors.
Tickets are $20. Access funds are available: https://loft.org/classes/access-funds
Whether you have a ticket or not, join us for a community celebration before the event at the O'Shaughnessy from 6–7 p.m. This is a great time to interact with some amazing community organizations and artists who focus on many of the themes discussed in Roxane's work and public image such as feminism, lesbianism, fat activism, and women led organizations that bring the Twin Cities community together around art.
