Stanley Trollip
Stanley Trollip was born in Johannesburg and divides his time between South Africa and Minneapolis. He is half (with Michael Sears) of the writing team known as Michael Stanley. Their Detective Kubu mysteries are set in Botswana. Their third mystery, Death of the Mantis, won a Barry Award and was a finalist for the prestigious Edgar Award. Their fourth mystery, Deadly Harvest, was a finalist for an International Thriller Writers Award. Their books have been finalists for numerous other awards, including the Crime Writers' Association Debut Dagger Award, the Anthony, the Macavity, Strand Magazine's Critics Award, and the Minnesota Book Award.
The Detective Kubu mysteries have featured on several "Best of the Year" lists, including the LA Times, Strand, and the Library Journal. Michael Stanley short stories have been published in Strand, and in the anthologies Once Upon a Crime (Nodin Press), and Bad Company (Pan MacMillan).
Stanley Trollip speaks at conferences around the world, and teaches at the Loft.
