Bring the Loft to You

We love to bring our creative writing programs out of our building and into your community. We work with schools, libraries, human services organizations, and workplaces to develop unique opportunities just for you! Our classes harness the power of the written word to strengthen every student's voice, and we're happy to work with you to create content that fits your needs.

Where We Go
SCHOOLS

Bring a Loft writer-in-residence into your K-12 classroom! Our in-school creative writing workshops incorporate elements of literary analysis, peer critique, and revision. Loft teaching artists tailor their workshops to best suit your students' interests and your curriculum goals.

We also bring world-renowned authors into schools for readings, lectures, and Q&As. Author visits are available in early May during the week before and after our Wordplay festival, and again in early November around our Wordsmith conference.

LIBRARIES

The Loft collaborates with Hennepin County Library and MELSA to present First Pages, a creative writing enrichment program for writers of all ages, levels, abilities, and backgrounds. First Pages workshops are tuition-free, and are taught by Loft teaching artists at area libraries throughout the year.

View a list of upcoming First Pages sessions at Hennepin County libraries here. For Loft programming at other area libraries, contact your library directly and ask if they offer First Pages workshops. For more information about attending a First Pages workshop, contact Lucia LoTempio at [email protected] or 612-215-2593.

WORKPLACES

Build clear, confident, and convincing communication skills among your staff, department, or organization. We offer seminars and workshops in social media, digital communication, copywriting, strategic communications, style & grammar, and narrative & storytelling.

What you write demonstrates to your colleagues and clients your insight, intelligence, drive, and voice. Is your company’s voice the strongest it could be?

SERVICE ORGS

Language connects us, and through sharing our stories with each other we embrace and transcend our differences.

Working with your clients or staff, our teaching artists create unique creative writing content that encompasses a broad spectrum of voices and literary expression. Build skills in writing while fostering community and empathy.
