2024 Writing for Social Justice Competition
Planting People Growing Justice Leadership Institute (PPGJLI) is requesting manuscripts for our Writing for Social Justice Competition. The winners will receive a $3,000 award and a copy of the published children's book. This opportunity is made possible as PPGJLI was awarded a Cultural Heritage Grant in the amount of $136,000 from the Minnesota Humanities Center.
Criteria: MN resident of African Descent and be 18+
Topics: Fiction--Picture book on Juneteenth, Rondo, or Black Joy
Nonfiction: Short Biography highlighting a Minnesota hero or shero: Dr. Josie Johnson, Roy Wilkins, August Wilson
SUBMISSIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED THROUGH OCTOBER 1, 2024
