Memoir co-author/research assistant needed
I'm looking for a co-author/research assistant to help me with my memoir:
Elephants and Flowers: A Journey of Faith, Music, and Perseverance
In Elephants and Flowers, Chris Johnson shares a poignant story of resilience, faith, and the transformative power of music. Living with spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy, Chris's journey is marked by physical and emotional challenges, but through the music and life of his childhood idol, Prince Rogers Nelson, he finds solace, inspiration, and a profound sense of self.
From the first stirring notes of "Little Red Corvette" to the spiritual awakenings triggered by "Purple Rain," Chris weaves a narrative that is both deeply personal and universally resonant. He candidly explores the impact of his disability, the grief of losing loved ones, and the moments of despair that led him to the brink of suicide. Yet, it is Prince's music, philosophy, and example that light his path, guiding him towards a life of courage, acceptance, and activism.
Elephants and Flowers is more than a memoir; it is a tribute to the enduring legacy of a musical icon and a testament to the human spirit's capacity for growth and transformation. With heartfelt honesty and lyrical prose, Chris invites readers to join him on a journey of introspection, healing, and unwavering hope.
Target length 80,000 to 90,000 words
Tasks include, but are not limited to: assistance with the organization of thoughts and memories, interviewing friends, and family members to fill in memory gaps, researching Prince's interviews and performances for relevant quotes and other content to augment chapter lengths, and so on.
