Robert Johns Presents "The Fighters" (Nov 4)

Join us in store as Robert Johns celebrates his new book, The Fighters: A Trilogy. Johns will be joined in conversation by Jody Lulich, author of the much-beloved memoir, In the Company of Grace.

In The Fighters, three divergent protagonists fight to surmount conflicts in their own ways. Janice, Pat, and Dana each make personal choices in the face of cultural forces and discover foundational insights about themselves as memories of the past resurface to guide them on their journeys forward.

After receiving a master of arts in English in 1976 from the University of Iowa, Robert Johns dreamed of writing stories about personal choices in the face of cultural forces and conflict. Forty years later, following an academic and public sector career in transportation research, he began writing fiction with guidance from The Loft Literary Center in Minneapolis. His debut novel, O’Brien’s Broken Play, was published in October 2023.

Jody Lulich is professor of veterinary clinical services and internal medicine at the University of Minnesota, where he holds the Osborne/Hills Chair in Nephrology/Urology and is director of the Minnesota Urolith Center. He is a classical pianist and lives in the Twin Cities with his husband. His memoir, In the Company of Grace, was published in 2023.
