Treehouse Climate Action Poem Prize
Hello all,
I am writing today on behalf of Treehouse Investments, a boutique distributed-infrastructure firm dedicated to addressing climate change located in Uptown Minneapolis. We are a family business, founded by a family from Puerto Rico. In 2007, we committed to investing in a socially responsible way. Over the years we have become convinced the only investments that are truly socially responsible are those which directly aim to reverse climate change.
We are pleased to announce the Treehouse Climate Action Poem Prize, a climate change-focused poetry contest hosted by the Academy of American Poets and sponsored by Treehouse Investments.
We are supporting this contest because we have come to believe that climate change is at heart a human crisis. We are hopeful that the contest will produce poems that remind us of everything we share, and thereby everything we put at risk. Click here to read more on our philosophy.
The contest will be held September 1st through November 1st, 2019, and will be judged by environmentalist Bill McKibben and award-winning poet and author Julia Alvarez. Three poets will be honored with a cash prize, as well as having their poem published in the Poem-a-Day series.
We invite you, or any creatives you may know, to submit a piece to this competition.
