What You’ll Submit: Your manuscript of short or novel-length crime fiction or a query letter.   

What You’ll Get: For a book-length submission, you will receive basic copy edits of the manuscript, including grammar, punctuation, spelling, and word choice, as well as detailed suggestions on sentence and paragraph structure.  You will also receive comments on character, dialogue, and point of view. Finally, you will receive an overall 5-8 page summary of your manuscript with respect to pacing, plot, and tension. This will include suggestions for revision.

You will also meet in person or via telephone or Facetime/Skype for thirty minutes to discuss any issues you have.

For works up to 5,000 words, you will receive basic copy edits, a 2-page summary, and suggestions for revision.

For a query letter, you will receive basic copy edits, a 2-page summary, and suggestions for revision.

Pricing: Loft manuscript critique consists of a flat base price, plus a per word fee. You can enter your word count below and the system will calculate your price. 

• $100 (base price) + 1.75 cents/word

Stanley will also review and critique your query letter: $110

Turnaround:

• Prose Up to 70,000 words: 6 weeks
• Prose Up to 100,000 words: 6 weeks
• Short Works (up to 5000 words): 3 weeks
• Query Letter (up to 600 words): 1 week
